environmental ed. center: snow-shoeing.

For my outdoor education class we went up to the environmental education center to see what type of resources they have there and what they provide to school age children. A few of us needed to leave earlier than the rest, so instead of cross-country skiing we went on a little snow-shoeing trip.

Oh the fun things we do in my outdoor education class. We build a tyrolean traverse as a team building activity. This was actually really fun to do. I walked across this river a few times...a little cold. Then I was able to actually go across on the ropes.

bear lake jubilee.

Every year, for the last six years, a few crazy people venture up to Bear Lake and jump into the freezing cold lake. We have done this to celebrate my friend Juber's birthday. This year was the big 30th! After last years frost-bite incident and just getting over being really sick, I decided to opt out of the getting wet part. I was there to show my support and to document! 

Yep. The lake was frozen this year.

igloo making: the attempt.

For my outdoor adventure class we attempted to make an igloo. The snow was really unpredictable and cutting the blocks for the igloo was not very easy. We had fun anyways!

cross-country skiing - bloomington canyon.

waterfall canyon - winter hiking.

now this adventure was for my outdoor education class... yeah... i love taking easy classes! I had never been up to waterfall canyon before and I can only imagine what it is like in the spring or summer.

cross-country skiing - the practice round.

outdoor adventure class - we practiced for our cross-country ski overnight trip that is next weekend. I told my professor that this was more like ice-skating with cross-country ski's on. He agreed. The snow is horrible! Let's hope the snow is different up in Idaho next weekend...
